lashon hara
Rabbi David Sperling

Question:
Is it lashon hara to reveal the specific therapy clinic where I was injured during physiotherapy and later assaulted? There are Jewish and non-Jewish therapists. the owner is not Jewish.

Answer:
Shalom,
I am sorry to hear of such a terrible situation. May you be blessed with only good.

The laws of lashon harah involve a basic principle called "to'elet", which is speech for a beneficial purpose. When there is a real benefit that will come of revealing lashon harah, then (after certain basic conditions have been met) one is not only allowed, but obligated to reveal the information.

So, in your case, reporting unprofessional conduct of a therapy clinic to the authorities is certainly allowed, and is the correct thing to do.
